This website is based on ELGG, a type of software that supports social networking.
Lots of young people use social networking sites such as bebo, myspace & facebook. In the past we have looked into using these already popular social networks but in the end we decided to create our own. This way, we can make sure it is a safe, neutral space exclusively for young people in Northern Ireland.
The social network hosted by this site supports;
Individual users - like you, who each have a profile page they fill with the content they choose. The profile also allow you to connect to friends on the network to keep in contact and share information.
Communities - These are groups of individual users who share an interest, they work a bit like 'bands' on bebo. You might want to start a community to run a campaign and help promote an issue you care about or if you run a group, to share information about events and keep members in touch. This site can facilitate two types of communities, Private communities and open communities. Any individual user who has an account can join an open community but private communities can only be accessed by users that have been invited to join by the owner of the community.
Open communities you can join now!
